Apple Reportedly Planning All-In-One Subscription For Apple Music, TV Shows, Magazines

Apple’s upcoming magazine subscription service and much anticipated original content television service could be set to be rolled into the existing Apple Music subscription model according to a new report by The Information.

The report has Apple set to bring all three subscription services under one roof, offering a service that would be similar to Amazon Prime.

Pricing is unknown at this time, but with Apple Music already costing subscribers $9.99 per month, it’s fair to say it will be more than that.

Interestingly however, Apple will apparently allow users to subscribe to each of the three services separately, meaning anyone who does not want one or more of them will be able to pick and choose which they pay for. That’s great news for anyone who is perhaps a Spotify subscriber but wants to be able to check out whatever new Oprah show Apple is cooking up.

Apple’s magazine subscription service is currently in the works and comes on the back of its purchase of Texture in March. Texture already offers a very similar subscription costing users another $9.99 per month, giving them access to over 200 premium magazines for the price of one all-in subscription.

While we do know that Apple is picking up shows and talent left and right, a timeline for when the Apple television content will be available is not yet known. Early 2019 is one possible time window, although this is very much guesswork right now.

Apple lumping music, TV and magazines into one monthly subscription would certainly make plenty of sense, especially for those who would want to take advantage of all three. Still, we’re pleased to learn that those wanting just one or two will be catered for, too.

We’ll have to wait and see whether The Information has this one right, but we certainly would not want to bet against it.
